Impairment Ratings
A medical impairment rating is completed by an independent professional in what is officially known as an Impairment Rating Evaluation (IRE). Ratings are conducted when a Claimant has reached Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI) and allows one to quantify the level of impairment experienced by the Claimant and allows for the most favorable resolution of the claim. Ratings may be calculated using an edition of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment or other jurisdictional guidance. Select Clarus providers have completed training in the use of the AMA Guides as provided by the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators (IAIME).
